Terms of Service
Last updated: October 23, 2026
1. Who we are
The Engineer's Field Book is a product of Greenlight Controls & Automation, LLC ("Greenlight," "we," "us"). We sell The Engineer's Field Book, a printed notebook, through engineersfieldbook.co (the "store"). By placing an order or using the store, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the store.
2. What we sell
We sell a printed hardcover notebook, the Field Book. We describe it as accurately as we can, including its page count, sections and materials. Photos and descriptions on the store are for reference. Some photos show a prototype, and a finished book may differ from a photo in small ways.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian place the order for you. You're responsible for the accuracy of the name, shipping address and contact details you give us.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars and are shown at checkout. Shipping within the United States is free, as stated in our Shipping policy. Taxes, where they apply, are calculated at checkout. Payment is processed by Shopify and its payment providers; we don't see or store your full card number. We may cancel and refund an order if there is a pricing error or if we can't fulfill it. If we do, we will tell you by email.
5. Pre-orders
If you order before the first print run arrives, it is a pre-order. We don't promise a ship date we haven't confirmed. We will email you a confirmed date once we have it, and again if it changes. You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it ships. The details are in our Shipping policy and Refund policy, which form part of these terms.
6. Shipping, returns and refunds
Our Shipping policy and Refund policy apply to every order. If these terms and those policies conflict, the policy governs for shipping, returns and refunds.
7. The Field Book is a record-keeping tool, not a legal service
The Field Book is a notebook. What you write in it, and how you keep and use those records, is your responsibility. We make no promise that any record you keep will be accepted as evidence, will satisfy a contract, regulatory, safety or audit requirement, or will be treated a particular way by any court, client or authority. Dated, sequential pages are designed to help you keep a clear record. That is a design intent, not a legal guarantee. Nothing in the Field Book, on the store or in our communications is legal, engineering or professional advice.
8. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
The Field Book and the store are provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost records or lost work, arising from the Field Book or the store. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim relates to. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that can't be waived.
9. Intellectual property
The Engineer's Field Book name, logo, page layouts, text and the store's content belong to Greenlight or its licensors. You may use the book for your own work. You may not copy, resell or republish the store's content or the book's layouts without our written permission. What you write in your book is yours.
10. Acceptable use of the store
Don't use the store to break the law, interfere with it or its security, or place orders for resale in a way that misrepresents who you are. Bulk and crew orders are welcome. Contact us at the address below and we will help.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. We will change the "last updated" date when the terms change.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Texas have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. Before starting any dispute, please contact us first so we can try to fix it.
